JOHNS ISLAND, S.C. — The Illinois women's golf team is in 10th place after the first day of the Briar's Creek Invitational at The Golf Club at Briar's Creek. Illinois had 3-5 holes remaining of the 36-hole day when tournament play was suspended at 6:25 p.m. CT due to darkness.
Crystal Wang is tied for 11th on the individual leaderboard at +5 overall through 14 holes of round two. She is six strokes off the leader's pace, as host College of Charleston's Viktoria Hund is 1-under.
Tristyn Nowlin and Reena Sulkar were both +9 on the day to sit in 36th place. Illinois' fourth scorer Isabel Sy is +12 and tied for 53rd place.
Play will resume Tuesday morning at 7:30 a.m. CT, first finishing the second round, then continuing through the final round with a shotgun start at approximately 8 a.m. CT. College of Charleston leads the team leaderboard at +8.
