CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Illinois takes off Friday for its season-opening tournament at the inaugural Heroes Ladies Intercollegiate, which runs February 7-9 at The Founders Club in Sarasota, Florida. It will be the first competition for the Illini in over 11 months. 

Five Illini will tee it up - Ali Morallos, Tristyn Nowlin, Reena Sulkar, Isabel Sy, and Crystal Wang.

The Heroes Ladies Intercollegiate will be one of the top women's golf tournaments in the country this spring. Teams from five conferences - the Big Ten, SEC, ACC, Big 12, and Peach Belt — will compete at the event. 

The 54-hole tournament hosted by Purdue will benefit the Army Ranger Lead the Way Fund. A charity outing will take place Monday.
