Minneapolis, Minn. – Fighting Illini men's tennis beat Minnesota 5-2 on Sunday afternoon.
Illinois got the lead early, picking up the doubles points with wins on Court 2 and 3. Alex Brown and Zeke Clark got their second win as a pair, defeating Allen/Vil 6-1. Alex Bancila and Aleks Kovacevic came back to win 7-5 over Heap/Dobbs.
In singles play, Kovacevic won singles No. 1 in straight sets (6-2,6-2) over Jackson Allen. Clark earned the third Illini point on Court 4, defeating Siim Troost 6-4,6-1.
Minnesota picked up two wins on Court 5 and 6 over Noe Khlif and Hunter Heck.
Alex Brown clinched the match on Court 3. He lost the first set against Vlad Lobak but battled back to win 3-6, 6-3, 6-3. Siphos Montsi defeated Dylan Heap 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 to finish the match
