Champaign, Ill. – The No. 6 Fighting Illini men's tennis team fell to the No. 9-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes, 4-1 on Sunday afternoon. The Illini move to 4-2 overall this season and 1-1 in Big Ten play.Â
After dropping the doubles point, the Buckeyes built a 3-0 lead with singles wins on Courts 2 and 5. Aleks Kovacevic got the Illini on the board with a 6-4, 6-3 win over John McNally. OSU's Robert Cash clinched the match on Court 6, 7-5, 7-5 over Kweisi Kenyatte.Â
Up next, the Illini travel to Madison, Wisc. for a Friday match against the Badgers. First serve is scheduled for 3 pm.
