CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Illinois women's golf team is set to close out its fall competition schedule as the Illini travel to Wilmington, N.C., for the Landfall Tradition on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (Oct. 29-31).
THE SETTING
The Landfall Tradition, one of the nation's top collegiate women's golf tournaments, will be held at the Country Club of Landfall on the pristine Pete Dye Course, a par 72, 6,150-yard rolling layout along the scenic Intracoastal Waterway near Wrightsville Beach.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT
There will be 18 teams competing in the 54-hole tournament with 18 holes on each day on Friday (Oct. 29), Saturday (Oct. 30) and Sunday (Oct. 31). Friday and Saturday will have a shotgun start of 7:30 a.m. CT, with Sunday's final round featuring a 7:45 a.m. CT shotgun start. Official tee times are available on Golfstat.com.
THE FIELD
Along with the Illini, the 18-team field includes UNCW, Central Florida, Clemson, Florida State, Furman, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, NC State, North Carolina, Penn State, Purdue, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest.

ILLINI AT THE LANDFALL TRADITION
The Illini have played in the Landfall Tradition once before, making their debut during the 2019-20 season and finishing third out of 18 teams with a five-over par score of 869 for the tournament. Seniors Crystal Wang and Kornkamol Sukaree and junior Siyan Chen were each in the lineup for the Illini, with Chen tying for 31st with a four-over 220 that included a season-low 69 (-3) in the opening round. Wang finished tied for 34th with a five-over 221, with Sukaree firing a seven-over 223 to close in a tie for 45th.

UP NEXT
The Illini will break for the fall, before returning to action on Feb. 13-14 for the Columbia Classic at the Duran Golf Club in Melbourne, Fla.
