CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Illinois women's gymnastics announced their 2022 schedule on Monday afternoon. The 11 meet regular season schedule includes six Big Ten conference meets, and four home meets.
The Illini kick-off their season against Central Michigan on Jan. 9 and will travel to Ohio the following weekend for a tri-meet with Kent State and Northern Illinois on Jan. 16.
The Big Ten section of the schedule begins 6:oo pm on Jan. 21 at Nebraska. The Illini will then travel to State College on the 29th for a double duel meet with Penn State.
Illinois' first home meet will be against Minnesota on Sunday, Feb. 6 at 2 pm CT. Last season the Illini broke several program records on senior night against the Gophers. Illinois' single TV appearance comes the following week at Michigan State on Sunday, Feb. 13. The Big Ten Network will carry live coverage on the meet beginning at 3:00 pm CT.
The Orange and Blue will then travel to Toledo, Ohio for the Big Five meet. They will face Michigan, Iowa, Maryland and Ohio State. Illinois closes out the Big Ten regular season hosting Rutgers on Friday, Feb. 25 at 7:oo pm.
The Illini are home for two of their final three meets. The will host a quad meet with Central Michigan, Boise State and Northern Illinois on March 4 then travel to Missouri the following weekend to compete against Mizzou, Lindenwood and Iowa State. They close the 2022 regular season hosting Bowling Green on Sunday March 13.
The postseason begins Saturday March 19 at the Big Ten Championships in Iowa City with NCAA regionals scheduled for March 31-April 2 and NCAA Championships April 13-16 in Fort Worth, Texas.
