CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Big Ten released the 2020-21 swimming and diving schedule on Friday night, with Illinois competing in three conference-only regular-season competitions.
"The team is excited to receive a schedule and have the opportunity to compete in the 2020-21 season," said head coach Sue Novitsky. "We will hopefully be able to take advantage of this memorable chance in an adverse environment and grow as a team."
The Illini travel to West Lafayette to open up the 2021 campaign for a tri-meet hosted by Purdue with Michigan State on Jan. 16 at 1 p.m. CT. The following week, Illinois will hit the road to take on Nebraska for a dual meet in Lincoln (Jan. 22-23).
The abbreviated regular season wraps up by traveling to Madison when Wisconsin hosts the Fighting Illini with Northwestern for another tri-meet on Feb. 5-6.
The tri-meets can be held on Friday and/or Saturday of those weekends, while providing the option for a one- or two-day format. Specific dates and times will be determined at a later date.
For the postseason, the Big Ten Championships are still being planned for late February. More information about the championship meets will be announced at a later time.
