CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Illinois junior Katie Hallinan won the GolfWeek Junior Tour's Amateur Series event Monday at New Albany Country Club in New Albany, Ohio. Hallinan finished even par (71-73) at the one-day, 36-hole tournament. 

Hallinan led the field in birdies (7) and pars (31) to win by one stroke over Michigan State's Leila Raines. Hallinan used hot starts in each round, going -3 in the first six holes of Round 1, then stringing together 11 straight pars to start Round 2. 

Fellow Illini junior Sarah Hauenstein finished ninth at +9 (71-82). She was tied for first after a morning round at 1-under par.
