CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — The Illinois women's golf team earned the 2019-20 WGCA All-Scholar Team GPA Award, the WGCA announced Monday. The Illini's 3.86 GPA tied for the 8th-best in the nation and was No. 1 among Power-5 programs.
This is the first time the Illini have earned the All-Scholar Team GPA award since it was first awarded in 2005.
Five Fighting Illini were named WGCA All-American Scholars, which was announced in June. Senior Tristyn Nowlin, junior Reena Sulkar, sophomores Kornkamol Sukaree and Crystal Wang, and freshman Siyan Chen all earned All-American Scholar accolades for the 2019-20 season.
Nowlin earned her fourth career All-American Scholar honors, while Sukaree and Wang each collected their second. Sulkar and Chen earned their first All-American Scholar award in their first season of collegiate golf.
