Diab, Kovach Wrap Up First Day at 2020 Winter Cup Challenge

LAS VEGAS - Junior Jordan Kovach and former Illini Alex Diab competed in the first night of the 2020 Winter Cup Challenge on Thursday at the Westgate Resort. Diab registered the top still rings score of the night with a 14.600.

In addition to securing first place on still rings, Diab finished 20th on high bar with a score total of 12.500 and was 23rd on floor exercise (13.400). Kovach tied for 27th on still rings with a 12.700, and tied for 29th with a 12.150 on high bar.

Day two of competition will take place on Saturday at 9:30 p.m. CT. Individual event champions will be determined via a combined two-day score.
