CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The Illinois Women's Golf team is ranked No. 17 in the latest Golfweek Women's Collegiate rankings, released Thursday, and No. 19 in the latest Women's Golf Coaches Association poll, released Friday. The Fighting Illini are coming off a fifth-place finish at the Glass City Invitational in Toledo, Ohio, on Monday and Tuesday.
The Orange and Blue placed two players in the top 10 at the Glass City Invitational, as Kornkamol Sukaree and Crystal Wang tied for ninth at 220 (+4). Sukaree's first-round score of 70 was the lowest by an Illinois golfer in the tournament.
Next up for Illinois is the Schooner Fall Classic in Norman, Oklahoma, from September 27-29. The field includes three other teams ranked in the top 25 of both polls.
