Fighting Illini senior Devin Quinn advanced to the NCAA final in the 100m Dash at the NCAA Championships, automatically qualifying by finishing second in his semifinal heat with a finish time of 10.01. The 10.01 finish-time is the fastest 100m finish in Illini program history, breaking NCAA Champion Andrew Riley's school-record of 10.02 set in 2012. This time also gives Quinn the 13th ranking in the World this year for the 100m Dash, 5th fastest by an American this year, and the fastest man in Big Ten history as it was the fastest-ever by a Big Ten athlete. By qualifying for the 100m Final, Quinn clinches First-Team All-America Honors for the first time in his career. Quinn is the first Illini to qualify for NCAA finals in the 100m Dash since Andrew Riley qualified in 2012.

Additionally, Quinn's 200m NCAA semifinal time of 20.31 is tied for 30th in the World rankings in the 200m Dash this year. The time ties for the 11th fastest by an American sprinter in the event. The national semifinal time of 20.31 posted by Quinn is also an Illinois program record in the 200m. He re-set the record by surpassing the 20.35 finish he clocked to earn a silver medal in the 200m at Big Ten Championships on May 12.

Quinn is the 2019 Big Ten 100m Champion, a 2019 First-Team All-America, a six-time All-American, eight-time Big Ten Medal-Winner, and holds three program records.
