Illini Softball to Take European Foreign Tour

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Illinois softball team is set to take an 11-day European foreign tour in the fall, traveling to the Netherlands, Belgium, France and England from August 6-16, head coach Tyra Perry announced on Wednesday (June 12).

"We are very excited about the opportunity to take our student-athletes to Europe," said Perry. "This will be a great environment for them to gain experience both on and off the field. The team cannot wait to get over there to compete this summer against quality opponents prepping for the 2020 Olympics."

The Illini will play three games while they tour the cities of Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris and London throughout the trip. NCAA regulations allow teams to make foreign trips once every four years, with 2019 trip marking the first-ever foreign tour in program history. The trip is being funded by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.

Stay tuned for more information throughout the summer leading up to the trip, with full coverage of the tour available on FightingIllini.com and via the program's social media channels: Instagram | Twitter | Facebook.
