SUNSET, S.C. – After the second day at the Clemson Invitational, the No. 22 Fighting Illini women's golf team sits in fourth with 574 (-2) at The Reserve at Lake Keowee (Par-72, 6,260 yards). Illinois posted a 283 (-5) during the first round and a 291 (+3) in the second round.
The Orange and Blue were led by freshman Kornkamol Sukaree, who remains in the top-ten with 140 (-4), tied for eighth. Junior Tristyn Nowlin remains a steady force for the Illini with 143 (-1). Nowlin improved on her first-round score with a 71 (-1) during the second round. Senior Bing Singhsumalee shot an even-par 72 to give her a 145 (+1) two-day total. Freshman Crystal Wang is close behind with 146 (+2). Rounding out the fivesome is sophomore Ali Morallos, who sits in 90th with 157 (+13).
Competing as an individual, freshman Katie Hallinan posted a 75 (+3) today for a two-day total of 149 (+5). She is currently in a four-way tie for 65th.
Atop of the leaderboard is No. 8 Vanderbilt with an impressive 555 (-21), while NCAA Championships participant, Auburn, sits in second with 563 (-13). Rounding out the top-three is host Clemson at 568 (-8). Sitting in fifth is SEC opponent Texas A&M with 575 (-1).
The final round of the Clemson Invitational is set for a 7 a.m. CT/8 a.m. ET tee time on Tuesday morning.
