TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Illinois women's golf, ranked 53rd in the latest NCAA Division I team rankings, returns to competition at the Florida State Match Up, March 20-22, in Tallahassee, Florida.
THE COURSE
The three-day event will take place at the Seminole Legacy Golf Club, with a par-72 course of 6,240 yards. The course was originally designed by Bill Amick and opened to the public in 1962. Nicklaus Design recently directed a comprehensive renovation of the course, with only one hole remaining from the original routing.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT
The 54-hole tournament will be a five-count-four format played over three days. Each round is set to tee off on holes one and ten between 7:30 a.m. CT and 9:30 a.m. CT.

THE FIELD
No. 28 Eastern Michigan, No. 35 Virginia, No. 54 Tulsa, No. 55 Alabama, Mercer, Troy, Sam Houston, FIU, Murray State, North Florida, and host Florida State will participate in the event alongside the Fighting Illini.

ILLINOIS AT THE FLORIDA STATE MATCH UP
Illinois competed at the Florida State Match Up last season, finishing second of 13 teams. A pair of Illini finished in the top ten, Lexanne Halama (219, T5) and Victoria Zheng (220, T7). Out of 54 holes, Zheng notched an impressive 11 birdies. Anna Ritter and Erica Lee both finished with a 222 to tie for 11th, though Lee competed as an individual during the 2025 competition. Lee's finish was the second-highest by an individual competitor for the event. Mapanao was also part of the lineup in 2025, finished tied for 59th, carding a 238.
UP NEXT
Following its stay in Tallahassee, Illinois will head to St. Augustine, Fla., for the Coach Mo Classic. The two-day event will be hosted by Furman, March 30-31.
