COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 22 Fighting Illini women's golf team is tied for fifth with a two-round total of 592 (+16) at the Lady Buckeye Invitational on Saturday. The Orange and Blue turned in scores of 298 (+10) and 294 (+6) from The Ohio State University Golf Club's Scarlet Course (Par-72, 6,319 yards). After 36 holes, three Illini are ranked in the top 25 individually.

As a team, the Orange and Blue sit atop the leaderboard with 120 pars, along with second in par-4 scoring at 4-over par and third in par-5 scoring at under-5 par.

The Orange and Blue were led by lone senior Bing Singhsumalee, who currently sits in second-overall with a 142 (-2). She carded rounds of 72 (E) and 70 (-2).

Two other Illini golfers find themselves in the top 25 on the player leaderboard, as freshmen duo Kornkamol Sukaree and Crystal Wang are currently tied for 21st and 23rd, respectively. Sukaree had a two-round total of 150 (+6), including an even-par 72 in the second round. Wang's total for the day was 151 (+7).  

Junior Tristyn Nowlin sits tied in 32nd after posting an even-par 72 in the first round to finish at 152 (+8) for the day. Rounding out the six-person team is freshman Katie Hallinan tied for 51st with a 155 (+11) and sophomore Ali Morallos, tied for 63rd with 159 (+15).

Atop of the leaderboard is reigning Big Ten champions, No. 19 Michigan State, with 6-over par. NCAA Championship participant, No. 9 Kent State, sits in second with 8-over par. In a two-way tie for third, Ohio State and Michigan, both posted a 592 (+16). Tied with the Illini for fifth are University of Indianapolis and Big Ten opponent, No. 49 Maryland, who all posted 16-over par.

The final round of the Lady Buckeye Invitational will begin with an 7:30 a.m. CT/8:30 a.m. ET shotgun start on Sunday morning. The Illini lineup will tee off on holes No. 5-9 in the order of Singhsumalee, Wang, Sukaree, Nowlin, Hallinan, and Morallos.
