Fighting Illini men's golf alumni were busy this weekend competing on the professional level. Several Illini appeared in the field at the Web.com Tour's Savannah Golf Championship over the weekend including Brian Campbell, Dylan Meyer and Luke Guthrie who earned a spot in the field on Thursday afternoon.
Campbell played solid throughout the tournament, finishing 14-under par to take third place. The finish marks his highest on the Web.com Tour this season and his second among the top 15. He has earned 15 finishes among the top 25 on the Web.com Tour throughout his career.Â
On the PGA TOUR Champions, Steve Stricker also finished among the top five individuals, taking fifth at the Rapiscan Systems Classic. The finish also marks his highest on the Champions Tour in 2019.Â
On the PGA TOUR, Nick Hardy, D.A. Points and Thomas Detry appeared in the field at the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship. In his PGA TOUR debut, Detry tied for 33rd, finishing with a total score 8-under par. His performance was highlighted by a 6-under par 66 in the second round of play.Â
Coming up this week, Scott Langley and D.A. Points are set to appear in the field at the Valero Texas Open. The event will begin April 4 at TPC San Antonio.Â
