ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Senior Devin Quinn earned bronze medals in the 60m and the 200m to lead Illinois men's track & field at Big Ten Championships on Saturday. Junior Jesse Reiser also took hom a bronze medal for his third place finish in the 1-Mile final. Senior Denis O'Callaghan reached the podium in the 800m with a fifth place finish, and redshirt junior Jacob LaRocca and junior Cooper Jazo placed fourth and eighth respectively in the pole vault to also score for the Illini. The Illini men had five athletes score points, finishing with 28 points to place 11th at the Big Ten Championships.  

Quinn finished with a time of 6.67 to place third at the conference meet in the 60m dash. In the 200m, he finished third with a PR time of 20.71. The 20.71 finish in the 200m now stands as the fastest time in the event in Illinois program history, surpassing the previous top-time of 20.75 set by DJ Zahn back in 2015. With third-place finishes in both events, Quinn scored 12 points total for the Illini, six between the two events. Quinn's third place finishes in the 60m and 200m are the highest of his career at Big Ten Indoor Championships.   

Junior Jesse Reiser would turn-in a third place performance in the 1-mile final Saturday afternoon, recording a time of 4:03.91. With a third-place finish, Reiser would contribute six points to the overall UI tally. This is Reiser's first time earning a medal at Big Ten Indoor Championships.

Senior Denis O'Callaghan timed a new PR of 1:50.26 in the 800m finals to place fifth in the event and score four points for Illinois. O'Callaghan broke the personal-best he set yesterday in the qualifiers of 1:50.33 with today's finish. This is the second consecutive season O'Callaghan has reached the podium at the Big Ten Indoor Championships after earning a bronze medal as part of the third-place men's DMR group last season.

The Illini had two reach the podium in the pole vault, as redshirt junior Jacob LaRocca and junior Cooper Jazo placed fourth and eighth respectively at Big Ten Championships. LaRocca scored five points for the Orange and Blue by placing fourth with a mark of 5.24m, a new PR for LaRocca in the event. Jazo added another point to the UI score with his eighth place finish, recording a mark of 4.99m. 

NCAA Indoor Championships are up next for qualifiers. As of Saturday morning, Devin Quinn, Jon Davis and the Illini men's DMR group of Reiser, Joe Haight, O'Callaghan and Davis sat in position to qualify in the 60m dash, the mile and the distance medley relay, respectively. The Championships will be held in Birmingham, Alabama on Friday, March 8 and Saturday, March 9. The Illini will begin the Outdoor season on Saturday, March 23 at the Bill Cornell Spring Classic hosted by Southern Illinois-Carbondale.
