CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - Illini women's gymnastics will get a taste of competition Thursday when it hosts in-state rival Illinois State in an exhibition meet at Huff Hall. The meet begins at 7 p.m. CT. Admission is free. Concession stands will not be open.
Illinois State finished the 2019 season at No. 56 in the Road to Nationals final rankings. Thirteen of the 15 gymnasts on the Redbirds' roster are returning from last season.
The Illini return 12 letterwinners from the 2019 season, including All-Big Ten performers in senior Karen Howell and juniors Kasey Meeks and Kylie Noonan. Senior Rae Balthazor is back after missing most of 2019 due to injury. Howell, Meeks, Noonan, and sophomore Shaylah Scott all competed in every meet for the 2019 Illini.
