Fresh Faces: Get to Know McKenzie Eddy

McKenzie Eddy is a freshman from Boerne, Texas, majoring in Physical Therapy. She joins the Illini as the defending Texas Level 10 State Champion on Vault and All-Around Runner-up, among several other club honors.

Why did you choose Illinois?

I chose it because I fell in love with the campus and team.

What are you looking forward to most about college gymnastics?

 I am looking forward to competing with the team the most.

When you were five years old, what did you want to be when you grew up?

 I wanted to be a park ranger.

When did you first get into gymnastics?

 I got into gymnastics when I was 6 years old

Who has taught you the most about gymnastics?

 My club coaches taught me the most about gymnastics.

Who has been the most influential person in your life?

 My grandpa has been the most influential person in my life. He is the most influential because he was always there for me, and he also has been through collegiate sports.
