CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- The Illinois baseball team will play Eastern Illinois and Indiana State this fall in exhibition games at Illinois Field. The Illini host EIU on Wednesday, Sept. 19 and Indiana State three days later on Saturday, Sept. 22. 

The NCAA adopted a change this year that allows baseball teams to play two fall exhibition games without counting against the 56-game spring schedule. Previously, games played in the fall counted against the traditional 56-game schedule.

The Illini plan to release their spring schedule Thursday after a special schedule announcement coming Wednesday.
