CHICAGO – The stars were shining Friday night as the University of Illinois introduced its 2018 Athletics Hall of Fame Class at the second annual Hall of Fame Gala, presented by Deloitte, at Chicago's Field Museum.

The Gala, hosted by ESPN Sports personality Rece Davis, celebrated the history of Fighting Illini Athletics and honored the second Illinois Hall of Fame class. Nearly 500 attendees filled the spectacular Stanley Hall of the Field Museum of Natural History for the three hour program.

Many members of the 21-person 2018 Hall of Fame class, as well as other Illinois Hall of Famers, notable former Illini and UI alumni, were in attendance and participated in the program. Of the 14 living members of the 2018 class, 13 were in attendance Friday night (Kevin Anderson was unable to attend). In addition, men's basketball great Deron Williams, a member of the 2017 class who was unable to attend last year's Gala, was on hand Friday night, taking the stage with fellow basketball great Kendall Gill.
