CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - After securing its 28th Big Ten title in school history a couple weeks ago, the Orange and Blue will look for a National title this weekend in Chicago. The second-ranked Illini are set to compete in the second session of the preliminary round against No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 6 Ohio State, No. 7 Penn State, No. 9 Iowa and No. 12 California. Meet action will begin at 7 p.m. CT.

- Illinois has won 10 national championships in program history ('39, '40, '41, '42, '50, '55, '56, '58, '89, '12).
- Nine Illini gymnasts have come away with event titles on the season, including Baker, Bull, A. Diab, M. Diab, Eggleston, Light, McLellan, Ngai and Quiana.
- Alex Diab's nine still rings titles ranks T-1st in school history for a single season and is one away from tying for the most all time. Diab is also third for career rings titles with 19.
- Brandon Ngai sits at third all-time with 23 career pommel horse titles.
- Chandler Eggleston is tied for seventh in school history with 11 career vault titles.
- Bobby Baker's 15.000 vault run against Michigan broke a school record under the current scoring system. Baker also came away with the best all-around total in school history (82.700).
- Brandon Ngai posted a 15.300 on pommel horse against Michigan to mark a new school record under the current points system.
- Bobby Baker posted an all-around total of 83.000, which marks a new school record under the current points system.
- UI's team total of 413.900 at the B1G Champs marks a season high and ranks eighth in school history under the current scoring system.
- The Illini posted season-best scores on vault (72.000) and high bar (70.150) at the B1G Champs. The vault total ranks second in program history under the current scoring system.
- Under the current scoring system, the Illini also posted the second-best floor total in school history (71.400), the 5th best rings score (70.300) and the fourth-best vault total (71.850) at Penn State on January 27.
- A year ago, the Illini placed third at the event behind champion Oklahoma (3x) and runner-up Ohio State.

Last Time Out
The Fighting Illini came away with a season-best 413.900 performance at the Big Ten Championships to earn their 28th conference title in school history. The Orange and Blue also picked up event titles from both Alex Diab (rings) and Chandler Eggleton (high bar). Diab's rings title was his third straight.
