CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Fighting Illini saw 16 student-athletes earn Academic All-America honors from the College Gymnastics Association, the organization announced on Wednesday. Illinois had 15 members on the Academic All-America First Team, tied for the most in the NCAA during the 2024-25 academic year.
After winning the Team Academic National Championship in each of the last two seasons, the Illini finished second in the race in 2025, finishing behind only Stanford. Illinois' 3.68 team GPA was the best mark in the Big Ten.
To be eligible, student-athletes needed at least a 3.2 GPA and must have competed in at least one competition that was verified by the NCAA/Road to Nationals.
