CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The Fighting Illini women's golf team will look to finish the regular season strong as the team heads to Columbus, Ohio, to compete in the annual Lady Buckeye Invitational. UI will be making its 13th straight appearance at the tournament, which is slated for April 14 & 15.
"The scarlet course is a demanding golf course and it sets us up well for the postseason," head coach Renee Slone said. "It gets us in that mindset and enables us to work on some key areas that will have us well prepared."
The 29th-ranked Illini will face off against four teams that are currently ranked in the top-40, including No. 12 Michigan State, No. 15 Washington, No. 16 Kent State and No. 39 Ohio State. Rounding out the field are Penn State, Toledo, Indiana, Minnesota, Rutgers, Seton Hall, Oregon State, Maryland and Indianapolis.
The tournament format will be the same as the conference tournament, with a 'play six, count four' scoring format. The lineup for Illinois for the weekend will be Grace Park, Tristyn Nowlin, Ali Morallos, Bing Singhsumalee, Chayanid Prapassarangkul and Dana Gattone.
