CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – A total of four former Fighting Illini football players took part in Illinois' annual NFL Pro Day Monday morning, March 12, at the Illinois Football Performance Center and Irwin Indoor Practice Center in front of at least 20 NFL scouts.
Taking part in Thursday's workouts were four Fighting Illini from the small 2018 senior class – seniors from the 2018 Fighting Illini – DE/LB James Crawford, OL Christian DiLauro, RB Kendrick Foster and WR Malik Turner. DiLauro and Foster participated fully, while Crawford (vertical leap) and Turner (bench press) were limited due to injuries. Former Illini cornerback Jaylen Dunlap also was present but unable to participate due to injury.Â
The Illini started off with measurements and vertical leap testing inside the Performance Center before moving to the Irwin Indoor complex for speed an agility drills. After the drill testing, the Fighting Illini took part in position-specific drills on the turf at the Irwin Practice Facility. Many were also interviewed by scouts.
The 2018Â NFL Draft will take place April 26-28Â at AT&T Stadium in Arlington Texas. A total of 23Â Illini have been drafted in the last nine years and 21 former Illini played in the NFL last season.
