Illinois to host NCAA Championships at State Farm Center

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The Fighting Illini men's gymnastics team has released its 2019 schedule, which features matchups against all five other teams that finished in the top six of last year's NCAA Championships. The new campaign will begin with a dual meet against in-state UIC at Huff Hall on Saturday, January 12, and will conclude with the NCAA Championships, held in Champaign for the first time since 2004. 

Schedule Notes:

  • Home opener set for Saturday, January 12 versus UIC
  • Two Big Ten home meet: Iowa and Minnesota
  • Three Big Ten away meets: Nebraska, Penn State/Michigan and Ohio State
  • Two tournaments: Windy City Invitational (Jan. 19), Winter Cup (Feb. 14-16)  
  • NCAA Championships to be held at the State Farm Center in Champaign, April 19-20

Sat. March 2 Minnesota & Stanford Huff Hall Minnesota was runner-up at NCAA's a year ago, while Stanford finished fourth
Sat. March 9 at Oklahoma Norman, Okla. Oklahoma has won four-straight NCAA Championships

Fri.- Sat.  April 5-6 Big Ten Championships Iowa City, Iowa Orange and Blue picked up their 28th Big Ten title in program history last year in Ann Arbor, Mich. 
Fri. April 19 NCAA Qualifiers State Farm Center  Illinois hosts the event at the State Farm Center 
Sat.  April 20 NCAA Team & Individual Finals
