NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Fighting Illini men's golf earned its second-straight tournament victory at the Fighting Irish Classic on Monday with a total score 44-under par (270-268-270). Five individuals finished among the top 20 in the tournament field, led by juniors Bryan Baumgarten and Giovanni Tadiotto who shot 12-under par for the tournament to tie for fourth.

Illinois was joined among the top teams on the leaderboard by runner-up Georgia Southern (-34) and North Carolina (-31). Fellow Big Ten opponent, Iowa, earned a fourth-place finish with a total score 19-under par. Illinois' 54-hole tally of 808 marks the second-lowest team 54-hole score in school history.

"I'm very happy with this win and with the way that we played in the last round, expanding upon our lead," head coach Mike Small said. "In team golf, when you have a lead going into the final round, that's what you do, you build on it. It was a total team effort with the junior class leading the way and playing from strength and commitment."

Both Tadiotto and Baumgarten recorded career-low marks with their 54-hole tallies of 201 at the Fighting Irish Classic. Tadiotto closed the tournament with a 5-under par 66 on Monday. He started the day with two birdies on his first four holes, which negated a bogey just before the turn. He added another pair of birdies on the 10th and 11th holes to negate a bogey on the back nine as well. Tadiotto finished strongly, recording a birdie and an eagle to finish the day.

Baumgarten went on a hot streak to close the tournament as well. He tallied six consecutive birdies on his back nine, which helped negate early bogeys in his round. He shot 6-under par on the back nine, and recorded a final round tally at 2-under par.

Junior Michael Feagles earned a sixth-place finish individually on Monday, recording a total score 11-under par. He tallied a 5-under par 66 on Monday, highlighted by five birdies on his back nine holes. Feagles' 54-hole score of 202 also marks a career-low for the junior.

Freshman Adrien Dumont de Chassart earned his first-career top-10 individual finish at the Fighting Irish Classic, closing play with a total score 9-under par.  Dumont de Chassart shot 2-under par on Monday, using four birdies to negate two bogeys on the day.

Illini sophomore Brendan O'Reilly shot 2-under par on Monday, carding five birdies on the day to tie for 17th. He closed the tournament at 4-under par, recording a career-low 209 through three rounds of play.

Representing Illinois as an individual, freshman Noah Gillard closed the final round a 5-over par to finish 1-over par for the tournament and tie for 42nd. Sophomore Varun Chopra also played as an individual, closing the tournament at 4-over par to tie for 53rd.
