ROSEMONT, Ill. – Fighting Illini junior Ethan Wilson has been named Big Ten Golfer of the Week following his top-five finish at the Pauma Valley Invitational in Pauma Valley, Calif., March 16-18. The Big Ten Conference announced the honor Thursday afternoon.
- Recorded a season-best finish, tying for fifth as an individual competitor in a loaded field at the Pauma Valley Invitational
- His top five finish marked the second of his collegiate career, and his first in a full-field event
- Shot under-par in all three rounds - 68-69-70 - to finish with a season-best score of 207 (-6)
- Shot par or better on 48 holes with 12 birdies
- Recorded head-to-head wins over 28 golfers ranked inside the top 100 nationally.
It marks the first-career Big Ten Golfer of the Week honor for Wilson. He is the third Fighting Illini to be recognized this season.
