COLUMBUS, Ohio – Fighting Illini junior golfer Dylan Meyer won his second consecutive tournament title on Sunday, using a 5-under par final round tally to secure the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate individual title, and lead Illinois men's golf to its fifth team victory of the year. As a team, the Orange and Blue finished the final round at even par for a three-round tally 12-over par. Three Illini joined Meyer among the top 10 individuals on the leaderboard as well. Kent State (+22) and Iowa (+47) rounded out the top three team finishers.

"It was a solid day to shoot even par as a team on that golf course, I was very proud of the guys for that," head coach Mike Small said. "It helped to have Dylan {Meyer} shoot 5-under par, that was a very impressive round. That was the eraser score we talk about, and it was a big part of our team's success. Another big part of that was that we only counted one double bogey on the course today. The guys played within themselves and Dylan's round carried us."

Meyer posted a bogey-free final round, carding three birdies on the front nine and adding two more on the back. He was the only player in the tournament to score under par in the final round, and through three rounds of play. He finished the tournament at 2-under par, five strokes ahead of second-place finisher, Bjarki Petursson (Kent State).

Freshman Michael Feagles earned his fourth top five finish of the season on Sunday, tying for third individually. Feagles carded two birdies on the front nine to negate two early bogeys. He added another birdie on the back nine and closed the day 2-over par for a total tally 5-over.

Sophomore Edoardo Lipparelli and junior Nick Hardy also placed among the top 10 individuals, finishing in ties for sixth and ninth, respectively. Lipparelli shot 3-over par in the final round, using two birdies on the back nine to negate a couple early bogeys. He finished the tournament 8-over par. Hardy shot at even par on Sunday, adding three birdies of his own. He finished the tournament 9-over par.

Freshman Giovanni Tadiotto closed the tournament 12-over par to tie for 19th individually. The finish marks his highest while playing in the Illini lineup this season. Playing as an individual, freshman Bryan Baumgarten shot 26-over par through three rounds to tie for 64th overall.

Hosted by Ohio State University, the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate was held on the 7,455 yard, Par 71 Scarlet Course at The Ohio State University Golf Club. Illinois joined Akron, Ball State, Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, Indiana, Iowa, Kent State, Miami (OH), Michigan State, Nebraska, Northern Illinois, Ohio State, Penn State and Rutgers in the tournament field.

Next up, the Illini will prepare for the 2017 Big Ten Championships, which are set to take place at the Five Farms East Golf Course at Baltimore Country Club, April 28-30.
