URBANA, Ill. – The Illinois women's tennis team will visit Iowa and Nebraska this weekend. The Fighting Illini take on Iowa on Friday, March 31, at 2 p.m. CT, and then will travel to Nebraska for a 10 a.m. CT match on Sunday.

"The attitude is fantastic," said head coach Evan Clark. "I don't think we could have had a better weekend this past weekend. So the confidence is there for sure. I think they're still really hungry. I think that they still have a lot to prove. I feel like they want to make a statement in the Big Ten."

Illinois heads into the road trip having won five of their last six matches, including three victories at home last weekend. The Illini topped Rutgers, 6-1, then defeated No. 33 Maryland, 5-2, and Southern Illinois, 4-0. The Orange and Blue look to improve on their 8-9 record. Iowa enters the match against Illinois with a 13-3 record. Nebraska's record currently sits at 15-2 and they take on Northwestern before facing the Illini on Sunday.

"I keep talking about making a statement in the Big Ten and we certainly feel like with the remaining matches that we can do that," Clark said. So we're excited. Iowa is a good team, Nebraska is a good team and we'll need our best stuff but we feel like we can really make a hard push this last half of the season."

UP NEXT

Illinois continues their road trip next weekend as they will travel to Indiana on Friday, April 7, and Purdue on April 9. The following weekend, the Illini return home for home matches against Ohio State on Friday, April 14, and Penn State on April 16.
