
Illini to Face Arkansas, Oklahoma on the Road

Illinois will play Arkansas on Friday evening, Oklahoma Sunday morning
URBANA, Ill. – The Illinois women's tennis team will hit the road for weekend matches against No. 27 Arkansas on Friday, Feb. 24 at 6 p.m., and at Oklahoma on Sunday, Feb. 26 at 11 a.m.
"We play two really good opponents this weekend," said head coach Evan Clark. "It's nothing that we aren't used to with the schedule that we have played, but the girls are excited to get back on the court."
Last weekend, the Fighting Illini fell to Northwestern, 1-6, in the first of four-straight matches on the road. Illinois has a 3-6 record on the season
Arkansas will put a five-match win streak on the line against the Illini, and enters the match with an 8-2 record, including a 3-0 mark at home and a 6-1 win over Oklahoma. With a 5-2 record on the season, Oklahoma boasts a 5-1 mark at home.
"It will be fun to get back out on the road again," Clark said. "We are excited for another opportunity to win some matches. We have had a lot of close matches this year, and we certainly feel like our best tennis is ahead of us."
IN THE RANKINGS
In the latest ITA Rankings, Baillon is No. 109 in the nation in singles.
For Arkansas, Shannon Hudsun is ranked No. 63 in singles, and Ana Oparenovic is the 88th-ranked player in the country.
Oklahoma's Lily Miyazaki is the No. 22 player in the nation in singles, and forms the 53rd-ranked doubles pair with partner Julie Byrne.

The Illini have a weekend off before wrapping up their four-match road trip with Florida State in Tallahassee on March 10 at 2 p.m.
