JOHNS CREEK, Ga. - With two rounds of play at the Ladies Fall Intercollegiate Invitational in the books, the Illini women's golf team sits in third place with a 25-over-par score.
UI was led by sophomore Tristyn NowlinĀ on Saturday, as the Richmond, Kentucky, native scored a second round total of -1 to place her 15thĀ overall heading into the final round of play.
"TristynĀ got off to a strong start today and made some outstanding par saves," head coach Renee Slone said. "We discussed her best mental and emotional state for success on the course last night and she focused on that today."
Pacing the Illini is junior Bing Singhsumalee, who shot a round two score of 74 (+2) and is at +5 for the tournament. Singhsumalee is tied for 10thĀ overall. Senior Jan PrapassarangkulĀ isn't far behind, sitting tied for 11th place after a 77 (+5) round two total, giving her a 6-over-par tournament total.Ā
With a second round score of 73 (+1), freshman Ali MorallosĀ is currently tied for 19th, and has carded a 10-over-par score overall. Senior Grace Park has a tournament total of 16-over-par, after a score ofĀ 82 (+10) on Saturday. Park is tied for 47th overall.Ā
Kennesaw State and host Louisville pace the field with a 20-over-par total. Georgia and Indiana round out the top five at +29 and +30, respectively.Ā
The final round of the Ladies Fall Intercollegiate InvitationalĀ is scheduled for aĀ 7:30 a.m. CT start tomorrow.
"Tomorrow we will continue to stay patient and focus on the things that we can control with high energy levels," Slone said.Ā
