Big Ten Release | Illinois Future Schedules
ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference announced Friday that it has moved Illinois' 2018 home football game against Penn State to Friday night, Sept. 21. The game was originally scheduled to be played Saturday, Sept. 22.
It will be the 23rd meeting between the two programs. The last time the Illini and Nittany Lions squared off in Memorial Stadium was Nov. 22, 2014, a 16-14 Illinois victory. Penn State leads the all-time series 18-5.
With the move to Friday night, Division of Intercollegiate Athletics (DIA) officials plan to contact Champaign-area high schools to explore the possibility of playing games at Memorial Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 22.
