
CHAMPAIGN – Fighting Illini men's golf is set to continue fall play at the Crooked Stick Invitational, October 16-17.  The two-day 54-hole event will be hosted by Indiana University at Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel, Indiana.
The tournament will begin with an 8 a.m. CT shotgun start on Monday, and teams will play 36 holes. The final round will take place on Tuesday, with tee times beginning at 8 a.m. CT. Illinois will join 11 other teams on the Par 72, 7,290-yard course in Carmel, including Ball State, Georgia, Indiana, IUPUI, Kentucky, Michigan State, North Florida, Purdue, South Carolina, Toledo and Xavier.
Live scoring for the tournament will be available on Golfstat and a recap will be posted at the end of each day of play.
The Orange and Blue last appeared at the Crooked Stick Invitational in 2015, bringing home a 19-stroke victory over the tournament field. Then-senior Charlie Danielson won the individual title, while Dylan Meyer and Nick Hardy each finished among the top six individuals.Â
Illinois is coming off of a 14-under par, fifth place finish at the Bearcat Invitational, led by senior Nick Hardy who tied for sixth individually. Hardy has earned two top-five finishes so far this season, and sophomore Michael Feagles has finished among the top 16 in both of Illinois' competitions this year.
