CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The first dual meet of the season for Illinois will be against Arizona State in Tempe, Arizona. It's the first time the Illini have faced the Sun Devils only in a dual meet since 1993.
"As we head into our dual meets, it's about self-improvement," said head coach Justin Spring. "That's what gymnastics is all about. It's a mastery of your own routine; to be able to it perfectly when it's called upon you. Whether we are going against Arizona State this weekend or going up against Minnesota at home next weekend, I know these guys have great momentum after a big win, but now it's this relentless pursuit of self-improvement throughout the year. You can't get content."
Illinois and Arizona State are scheduled to begin competition at 3 p.m. CT on Saturday, Jan. 21.
