After an Illinois Twilight team victory, Head Coach Mike Turk handed out his weekly team honors this afternoon. 

Field Athlete of the Week: Aaron Wilks

Wilks posted a new javelin PR of 210'1" (64.04m) on Saturday evening to place third overall in the event.

Sprints Athlete of the Week: Cam Viney

The senior took home three titles on the day. Individually, Viney won the 110m hurdles and 400m hurdles, setting a PR in the latter of the two events. Viney also ran one of the legs of the 4x400m relay team that finished first in the event. 

Distance Athlete of the Week: Caleb Hummer and Zach Dale

The freshmen duo share the award after both notched strong performances in their events. Hummer won the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 9:16.71, while Dale posted a 14:29.33 mark in the 5,000m.

Rookie Athlete of the Week: Jared Christiansen

Christiansen's 3:51.77 time in the 1500m was a personal-best mark for the freshman.

Special Athlete of the Week: Tony Zea

Zea clocked a time of 3:52.07 in the 1500m run to set a new personal-record time.
