INDIANAPOLIS – With just 18 holes of the 2016 Big Ten Women's Golf Championship remaining at The Fort Golf Resort, the Illinois squad sits 2-over par (578) after a second-round score of 293 (+5) on Saturday, April 23. The Fighting Illini own a share of sixth place as a team, and four different Illini golfers have registered a round below par.

Three Illini stand among the top-25 individually. Freshman Bing Singhsumalee climbed 10 spots over the second round to close the afternoon in a share of 13th place. After shooting par to open play yesterday, Singhsumalee went low today, shooting a 71 to sit at 1-under par. She leads the Illini with seven birdies through two rounds.

Grace Park ranks second-best for the Orange and Blue at the Big Ten Championships, owning a share of 16th place after scores of 69 and 75, respectively. Park has worked to an even-par reading after two days of action.

Chayanid Prapassarangkul made a 13-spot jump up the leaderboard and will enter the final day of play ranked T-22nd. After a first-round tally of 74, the sophomore responded with a 71 and is 1-over par in total. Prapassarangkul notched three-straight birdies from holes 15-17 to bring her tally to four across the second round.

Pailin Ruttanasupagid marks the fourth Illini ranking in the top-30 of the individual leaderboard. In just her second tournament competing towards the team score, the sophomore is tied for 29th following rounds of 70 and 76, respectively.

Stephanie Miller and Dana Gattone round out the Illini lineup. The pair is currently resides in 62nd place looking to climb the leaderboard on the final day. Miller has carded rounds of 75 and 78, while Gattone posted marks of 74 and 79.

Illinois is the only team with two eagles on the books through two rounds of play at the Championships after Park and Ruttanasupagid each tallied one during the opening round.

Currently leading the field is No. 7 Northwestern with a 6-under par reading. No. 36 Ohio State jumped seven spots as a team to gain possession of second place with a two-day reading of 572 at 4-under par. No. 50 Michigan (573), No. 35 Purdue (574) and Penn State (576) round out the top five. Illinois and No. 39 Michigan State are knotted at 578 (+2) for sixth place while Indiana and Wisconsin share eighth place at 579. Minnesota (584), Rutgers (585), Iowa (587), Nebraska (596) and Maryland (607) round out the team standings.

UI will be paired with Purdue and Penn State for the final round from Indianapolis. Illini tee times will open at 7:18 a.m. CT from the first hole and depart in nine-minute increments.

Coverage of the final round of the 2016 Big Ten Women's Golf Championships will be edited into a one-hour show and will air on the Big Ten Network on Sunday, May 1, at 10 a.m. CT. The show will be re-aired later that same day at 5:30 p.m. CT.
