PEORIA, Ariz. – Illinois Women's Golf wrapped up the opening day of it's spring slate with a 12-over par showing at the Westbrook Spring Invitational. The Fighting Illini carded an opening round of 294 (+6), followed by and afternoon reading of 293 (+5). Play will resume tomorrow morning from the Westbrook Village Vistas Golf Course with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. CT.

Junior Stephanie Miller leads the Orange and Blue after two rounds. Miller shot a one-under 71 to open the day and followed it up with an even reading of 72. Miller carded a trio of birdies in the day's opening round and followed with four holes below par in round two, leading the Fighting Illini with seven holes under par. She'll enter the final round in a tie for 11th at 143 (-1).

Also entering the evening in the top-25 is Grace Park who owns a share of 23rd. The sophomore carded a one-over 73 to open the day and fired back in the afternoon with an even 72, registering five birdies along the way.

Chayanid Prapassarangkul opened the tournament with a carding of 75 following a one-under showing on the back nine. The sophomore fired a second round score of 74, dropping two of her three birdies on the second set of holes on the day. She currently sits in a tie for 48th in the individual standings.

In the opening round, Dana Gattone began and finished with a birdie en route to a three-over score of 75. The sophomore got hot on the back nine of her second round, firing a trio of birdies as well. Gattone will enter the break with a share of 54th place with a combined score of 150 (+6).

Freshman Bing Singhsumalee turned in a combined reading of 153 (+9) after the first day of play from Peoria, Arizona. She carded rounds of 76 and 77, respectively.

Competing as an individual, Pailin Ruttanasupagid turned in her career-best single round score of 74 (+2) in the afternoon with the help of three birdies, including one to open the round. The sophomore began the day with a round of 87.

As a team, Illinois will hold 12th place overnight, just five strokes out of the top-five. Leading the field is Oregon at nine-under par followed by Kansas State and UNLV tied for second at three-under. Rounding out the top five are Ohio State and Notre Dame at one-under and even par, respectively.

Third round action of the Westbrook Spring Invitational is slated for a 9:30 a.m. CT start.
