Simpsonville, Ky. – With two rounds of the Cardinal Cup complete, the Illinois Women's Golf team sits in fourth place with a 28-over-par score.

"Overall, there were a lot of good things and improvements," head coach Renee Slone said. "It's always good to see scores trending down."

Setting the pace for the Fighting Illini is Grace Park, sitting in fifth place by carding a 73 (+2) on the round and a +4 overall. Right behind Park is Bing Singhsumalee with a six-over-par score overall, good for a tie in seventh place after a second round score of 79 (+7).

Tristyn Nowlin is currently tied for 13th, after scoring a 74 (+2) in the second round and bringing her total to 152 (+8). In a tie for 26th place, Stephanie Miller recorded a 73 (+1) on the day, good for a 10-over-par score overall.

With a second round score of 79 (+7), Chayanid Prapassarangkul is currently tied for 87th, and has carded a 24-over-par score overall. Competing as an individual, Dana Gattone is tied in 37th place at 12-over-par, after carding an 80 (+8) in the second round.

The top four teams remain intact, with Florida State holding the lead at 17-over-par. Wisconsin and Kentucky have swapped the first round positions, as the Badgers are in second place with a 21-over-par score, and the Wildcats currently have a 27-over-par score.

"We know we have a lot more left in us," Slone said. "We will look to end our fall season on a positive note. There were a lot of good things today that we will build off, so that tomorrow we will see some good things happen.

The final round of the Cardinal Cup is scheduled for an 8:30 a.m. CT start tomorrow.
