He hauled in a 10 yard touchdown pass from Vernon Adams, Jr., in the second quarter and a six-yard TD from Nate Sudfeld in the third quarter. He also forced a fumble after a West turnover and rushed one time for two yards.

DB V'Angelo Bentley (West) » Made three tackles, including one TFL, defended one pass, returned three punts for 13 yards and one kickoff for 13 yards to help the West to victory.

FS Clayton Fejedelem (West) » Intercepted East QB Blake Frohnopfel in the third quarter and also made one tackle as the West defense allowed just nine points on the day.

RB Josh Ferguson (East) » Was the East's leading rusher with eight carries for 33 yards and was second on the team with four receptions for 11 yards. He also returned one kickoff for 25 yards and assisted on a tackle after an interception by the West defense.

OL Ted Karras (West) » Played mostly at left guard and helped the West roll up 462 yards in the victory.

Upset Bid Falls Short for Illini Against No. 17 Texas Tech

A day after taking down 30th-ranked Virginia Tech, No. 58 Illinois fell short against the ITA Kick-Off Weekend host, No. 17 Texas Tech, in a 4-1 battle that took place in Lubbock, Texas. Splitting the weekend series 1-1, the Fighting Illini are now 3-1 on the dual season. The Red Raiders improved to 2-0 with the victory and claimed a berth in the ITA National Team Indoor Championships in February. Recap | Results
