Monheim Hangs Up Football Cleats

Fighting Illini senior linebacker Mason Monheim has decided to hang up his cleats and head to dental school instead of pursuing a professional football career, Aaron Dorksen of The Daily Record (Wooster, Ohio) reports. Monheim was a four-year starter for Illinois, ranking seventh on the UI career tackles list (392) and tied for fourth on the career forced fumbles list (7).
