Due to inclement weather on Friday, Sept. 4, the Fighting Illini have rescheduled the football game against Kent State to Saturday, Sept. 5 at 1 p.m. CT. The game will not be televised, but it will be streamed live on BTN2Go. To make this process as smooth as possible for all fans, the several options will be available for all patrons. #ILLINI CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS OPEN SEASON ON A HIGH NOTE

The Fighting Illini Women's Cross Country team started off its season strong with a victory over Missouri and Northern Illinois in the Illini Challenge. The Orange and Blue notched four top-10 finishes with  Alyssa Schneider  winning the 5K run. The men's team dominated in their season opener, taking seven spots in route to a 15-50 victory. The top six Illini finished within one second of each other, sweeping the top-seven spots in the meet.  Jereme Atchison  edged out his teammates to win the Illini Challenge with a mark of 19:06.6. Right behind him, redshirt freshmen  Zack Smith  and  Dan Lathrop  crossed the line together with a mark of 19:07.0.

Sixth-ranked Illinois opened its extended road trip with a visit to Penn State for the Big Ten/Pac-12 Challenge on Friday, September 4, where the Illini took the first set over No. 2 Stanford, but ultimately fell 3-1 in the contest. Neither team had dropped a set entering the match, but after Illinois won the first set 25-16, the Stanford Cardinal made sure to return the favor.

Illini Soccer fell to 4-1-0 on the season Friday night, Sept. 4, after battling to a 2-1 loss at Washington. Sophomore Kara Marbury netted Illinois' only goal of the night, assisted by Jannelle Flaws. Illinois' four wins to start the 2015 season mark the best start for an Illinois team since the 2011 season when the Orange and Blue also started the year with four victories.
