@ILLINISOCCER EARNS 2OT WIN OVER MARYLAND
Senior Nicole Breece scored her first game-winning goal of the season on Sunday, Sept. 27, lifting Illinois over Maryland, 2-1, in a double-overtime contest. Breece's goal came in front of the ninth largest crowd in Illinois history, as UI welcomed 1,152 fans to Illinois Soccer Stadium for this year's SoccerFest. With Sunday's win, Illinois improves to 8-2-1 on the season and 2-1-1 in Big Ten Play.

Senior CB V'Angelo Bentley became Illinois' all-time kickoff return yardage leader during Saturday's victory over Middle Tennessee. Bentley had three kickoff returns for 65 yards against MTSU, giving him 1,530 for his career and moving him past Pierre Thomas (1,495) and into first place on the Illinois all-time list. Bentley is the first Illinois player in school history to record kick, punt, interception and fumble returns for TD in his career.

The 2015-16 Fighting Illini men's tennis team opened its fall season over the weekend at the Conference Challenge in College Station, Texas. The Illini garnered 11 total victories, including nine singles and two doubles wins.

llinois women's tennis has concluded its opening weekend of fall play as the team traveled to Puerto Rico to participate in the University of Georgia-hosted Puerto Rico College Challenge. The Orange and Blue faced some of the nation's top talent at the three-day event with Georgia ranking fifth and Miami coming in at number 15.
