Training Camp Schedule
RANTOUL, Ill. -Â After a long scrimmage at Memorial Stadium Saturday night, the Fighting Illini had an "off" day at Camp Rantoul on Sunday, at least in terms of football practice. Instead of honing their football skills, Coach Beckman held "Leadership Day," which included guest speakers and meetings with an emphasis on leadership and mental focus as the team prepares for the 2015 season opener in 19 days. The Illini also got some time to relax at the water park that is just north of the practice fields at Camp Rantoul.Â
The Fighting Illini return to the fields at Camp Rantoul on Monday with practice No. 13 at 10:45 a.m. All practices in Rantoul are open to the public and free to attend.Â
Water Park Fun
After Saturday night's scrimmage in Champaign, the Fighting Illini got some much-needed fun time with their annual training camp trip to the Hap Parker Family Aquatic Center, which is adjacent to the Camp Rantoul practice fields. Some of the players let loose on the water slides and diving boards, while others watched and lounged in the lagoon area of the pool. One thing was for sure, everyone had fun and got refreshed for the second half of training camp.
