The Fighting Illini Fan Council is ready for the next meeting of the summer with the Chicago Council. They will come together Wednesday, August 12 at 4 p.m. at the MillerCoors Conference Center in downtown Chicago. This will be the conclusion of this quarter's meetings.
Topics to discuss include: upcoming Chicago sporting events (football at Soldier Field and men's basketball at the United Center), Football and Men's Basketball Season Tickets (sales report and upcoming ticket sales) and Grange Grove (layout and what to expect in the fall).
The discussions are open to the council for questions and depend highly on their involvement with the mentioned topics as the set focus points. The councils consist of season ticket holders, single game buyers, I FUND members, and students. The moderators for the Chicago meeting includes Senior Associate Director of Athletics Mike Waddell, Associate Director of Athletics Brad Wurthman, Director of Marketing Brad Swanson, Associate Director of Athletics Zach Goines, Senior Director Matt Wszolek, and Assistant Director of Marketing Sabrina Thiel.
"The summer quarter meeting with the Chambana Council brought a lot of insight to our department. We took everything to heart and we are working very hard to make the experiences for our Fighting Illini fans better," stated Wurthman. "We hope to achieve a similar outcome with our Chicago Fan Council. They are a small but mighty group and we hope to gain understanding on how to tackle the Chicago market for our events there this fall."
