University of Illinois student-athletes will travel in style beginning this fall thanks to a new branding partnership between Illinois Athletics and the Peoria Charter Coach Company.
Two Orange and two Blue FIGHTING ILLINI decorated motor coaches have been designated to be part of this new program featuring bold FIGHTING ILLINI Athletics branding. The vehicles will hit the road beginning this month as part of the fleet of Peoria Charter Coach Company, a third generation, family-owned and operated Illinois business with over 70 years of service to the community. The custom Illinois Athletics designs were applied to the coaches by Bloomington Car Wraps, using state-of-the-art Avery Dennison wrapping film.
These coaches will be a part of the fleet that will serve the 21 FIGHTING ILLINI teams each year, along with other Peoria Charter clients 52 weeks a year.
"This relationship with Peoria Charter will give our teams an enhanced sense of Illinois pride as they travel around the country representing the University of Illinois" stated Senior Associate Director of Athletics Mike Waddell. "These beautiful coaches will be seen all around the nation, year round, and will be a giant reminder to all who see them of the power of the FIGHTING ILLINI brand and the overall excellence that is the University of Illinois. We are fortunate to have partners such as Peoria Charter Coach Company and Bloomington Car Wraps to work with us on this bold branding initiative"
In addition to their partnership with DIA, Peoria Charters also offers bus services to University of Illinois students for transportation to and from Chicago suburbs and to O'Hare Airport. The Fighting Illini Football team will be the first to take to the road in the new look "Orange and Blue" coaches as they travel to Camp Rantoul in August.
