CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The University of Illinois and Duke University have finalized a home-and-home football series for the 2025 and 2026 seasons. The Fighting Illini will travel to Durham, N.C., to face the Blue Devils on Sept. 6, 2025, with Duke returning the game in Champaign on Sept. 12, 2026.
The two schools have faced each other twice in football, but not since 1965. The Blue Devils defeated the Illini 15-13 in Durham in 1958, with Illinois taking the most recent meeting, 28-14, in Champaign 50 years ago in 1965.
The Fighting Illini now have future home-and-home matchups scheduled with North Carolina, South Florida, Connecticut, Virginia, Kansas and Duke, one game per season through 2026. Big Ten schedules are complete through 2019, while full 12-game schedules are complete for Illinois through 2018.
