Daniela Pedraza Novak Signs NLI to Illinois

URBANA, Ill. - Illinois women's tennis head coach Michelle Dasso has announced the signing of a third recruit that will join the Fighting Illini family in the fall of 2015. Daniella Pedraza Novak of Bogota, Columbia, has signed her National Letter of Intent to join the Illinois squad starting with the 2015-16 season.

"Daniela has an outstanding work ethic and comes from a fantastic family," shared Dasso. "That is a great combination. This recruiting class, guided by the solid leadership of our upperclassmen, will put Illinois women's tennis in a very exciting place for years to come."

Pedraza Novak will join Dasso's crew upon her graduation from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. The 5'8" addition to the Illinois program has represented Columbia in a pair of South American team tournaments hosted in Argentina, in addition to playing for her native country at the South American Youth Games in 2013.

The most recent signee to Dasso's class is the daughter of Jaime Pedraza and Nicoletta Novak. Pedraza Novak also has an older brother, Diego, who plays tennis at Dartmouth College and a younger brother, Santiago.

Pedraza Novak plans to major in business at Illinois. She will join forces Jaclyn Switkes and Ines Vias on campus this coming fall, who both signed letters to Illinois last November.
