CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - The six NCAA Regionals will take place Saturday April 4, with the No. 14 Fighting Illini competing in the Morgantown Regional. Illinois was selected as the No. 3 seed and will be joined by No. 1 seed Florida, No. 2 seed Stanford, Arkansas, New Hampshire and host West Virginia. Morgantown Regional action is slated for 3 p.m. CT inside WVU Coliseum.

Illinois will look to make its third straight trip to Nationals for the first time in school history and fifth trip to the championships in the last seven years.

NCAA regional tickets are $12 in advance and $15 day-of-meet. Groups of 10 or more will be charged $9 per ticket.

NCAA IMPLICATIONS
The top two teams and the top two all-arounders (who are not on an advancing team) from each regional will receive an automatic berth to the National Collegiate Gymnastics Championships April 17-19 in Fort Worth, Texas. Illinois will look to punch its third consecutive ticket to Nationals and make its fifth trip in the past seven years.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Among the Morgantown Regional field are three teams that advanced to the 2014 NCAA Championships - Florida, Illinois and Stanford.

Last year, Florida won its second consecutive NCAA title in 2014, sharing the title with Oklahoma. The Gators will look to win their 15th NCAA Regional title and make their 33rd appearance at the NCAA Championships. Florida enters the weekend ranked No. 2 in the nation and ranks in the top-3 in all events. Six Gators were named to the All-SEC team, led by senior Kytra Hunter who was named SEC Gymnast of the Year.

Stanford will look to garner its sixth regional title and qualify to the NCAA Championships for the eighth time in the past nine years. The Cardinal enters the weekend ranked No. 11 in the nation. Ranked No. 19 in the nation, Taylor Rice leads Stanford in the all-around.

Arkansas will go into this year's NCAA Regional looking to return to the NCAA Championships after missing the 2014 event. The Razorbacks, ranked No. 19 in the nation, have advanced to the NCAA Championships in seven of the last eight years. Arkansas has appeared inside the top-20 all season. Ranked No. 18 in the nation, Amanda Wellick leads the Razorbacks in the all-around.

Rounding out the field is New Hampshire ranked No. 25 with a 195.860 RQS and West Virginia with a 195.355 RQS. New Hampshire will look for its first NCAA berth since 1994 while West Virginia last advanced in 1999.

LAST TIME OUT
Illinois posted a school-record score of 197.350 at the 2015 Big Ten Championships in Ann Arbor, Michigan, which propelled them to a runner-up finish behind Michigan (197.825). Illinois' second-place finish was the highest at Big Ten's since 2009, where they also finished runner-up.

The Fighting Illini posted scores inside the program's top-10 all-time list on three events (VT, UB, BB) and had a total of eight individual podium finishes. Mary Jane Horth turned in a career-best all-around score of 39.575, which finished in third, and also tied for third on bars (9.925) and fifth on vault (9.900). Giana O'Connor finished tied for second on vault with a 9.925, while senior Sunny Kato finished tied for second on beam (9.900) and fifth on bars (9.900). O'Connor rounded out the day finishing in sixth in the all-around (39.525) and fourth on floor (9.900). All three Illini were named to the All-Championships Team.

LAST YEAR AT REGIONALS
In 2014, the Illini punched its ticket to Birmingham on April 5 when they finished in second place at the Minneapolis Regional, scoring a 196.600. Illinois beat out fellow conference rival Minnesota, who finished in third with a 196.350. The Orange and Blue recorded a season high 49.4 on bars, which was the highest of the day and the third highest in program history. In addition, two Illini walked out of Minneapolis as regional champions. Sunny Kato achieved a career high 9.925 on bars to earn the title as Sarah Fiedler tied her career high of 9.9 on beam to earn that respective title as well. The duo became the fifth and six regional champs in school history. Finally, the Illini's 196.6 was the second highest score in school history at the time and highest at an NCAA regional meet.

ILLINI IN THE RANKINGS
The Illini currently rank 14th in the nation, based on RQS, and rank in the top-10 in two events. The Orange and Blue sit 10th on bars (49.305) and beam (49.200). Illinois also ranks 20th (49.065) on vault.

Individually. Giana O'Connor currently ranks 10th in the nation in the all-around with an RQS of 39.470. Mary Jane Horth sits 14th in the all-around (39.430) and eighth on bars (9.915), while Sunny Kato ranks 13th on bars (9.905) and 15th on beam (9.900). O'Connor also ranks 22nd on floor (9.905).

FIVE ALL-AMERICA HONORS // THREE FIRST-TEAM ALL-BIG TEN SELECTIONS
Sophomore Mary Jane Horth, senior Sunny Kato and junior Giana O'Connor were rewarded for their stellar seasons, as they were named NACGC/W All-Americans. Horth was named First Team All-American on bars and Second Team All-American in the all-around. Kato was also named All-American in two events, earning Second Team All-American on bars and beam. O'Connor was named Second Team All-American in the all-around. The five regular season All-American selections in one season are the most in program history.

The trio also earned First-Team All-Big Ten honors, marking the second time (2010) in program history that three Illini were named to the First-Team and the seventh straight year the Illini had at least three gymnasts claim All-Big Ten accolades.

O'Connor garnered her third career All-Big Ten selection and first First-Team nod. Kato also achieved her third career All-Big Ten selection and second straight First-Team honor. The two join a prestigious group of Illini gymnasts who have received at least three all-conference awards (Denise Lamborn, Ashley Williams, Nicole Cowart, Cara Pomeroy, Allison Buckley, Kelsey Joannides and Amber See). Horth asserted herself among the top gymnasts in the Big Ten in her first season competing in the all-around, earning her first All-Big Ten accolade.

RECORD SETTING
The 2015 Fighting Illini have left their mark on the record books this season recording the highest and second-highest team scores in program history. Illinois posted a school-record score of 197.350 at the 2015 Big Ten Championships in Ann Arbor, Michigan, which propelled them to a runner-up finish. The squad achieved a 196.975 at Iowa on Feb. 14, which tied the second-highest team score in program history. Illinois has posted six scores on bars this season that rank in the top-10 all-time list, attaining the third highest total (49.425) at the Big Ten Championships. Furthermore, Illinois has posted five scores on beam that rank in the program's top-10 list. Lastly, the Illini cracked the top-10 in vault twice this season, achieving the second-best total (49.400) in school history at the Big Ten Championships.

Individually, Mary Jane Horth and Giana O'Connor have emerged onto the top performance list. O'Connor tied the school all-around total (39.625) and turned in the third-best all-around score in program history (39.600), while Horth has posted the fifth (39.575) and sixth-highest (39.550) all-around scores. Sunny Kato tied the school record on beam (9.950) against Oklahoma and Horth has also achieved the second-highest bars score (9.975) in program history twice this season. Lastly, O'Connor also posted the third-best (9.950) and fifth-best (9.925) vault scores in program history. O'Connor has cracked the top-10 all-time list this season in every event except floor.
